Gary Yu

Gary Yu is a senior media professional who has been actively engaged in North America’s cultural media and Asian American public affairs sectors for many years. He is dedicated to advancing cross-cultural exchange and supporting the sustainable development of the Chinese American community.

Beyond his professional work, Mr. Yu has been deeply involved in community service and civic engagement. He has served as Co-Chair of the New England Chinese American Alliance (NECAA) and President of the Massachusetts Chapter of the United Chinese Americans (UCA). His contributions to community building and the promotion of diversity and inclusion have been widely recognized. In 2023, he received the “Diversity and Inclusion Award” from the United States Senate in recognition of his outstanding efforts in advancing inclusive initiatives.

Mr. Yu has consistently championed Asian American cultural visibility, youth development, and cross-cultural collaboration, playing a key role in building meaningful bridges between the Chinese American community and mainstream society.

In the area of public policy advocacy, in 2023 he successfully advanced an initiative for the Boston City Council to designate Lunar New Year as an official public holiday. In the same year, he also helped establish May as Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month in Massachusetts and contributed to the successful launch of the inaugural AAPI Festival.

In 2024, at the invitation of the Boston Red Sox, Mr. Yu threw the ceremonial first pitch at Fenway Park before a game against the San Francisco Giants, becoming the first Chinese American to receive this honor in the ballpark’s 123-year history.

Charles K. Tsui 徐国富

Charles Tsui was born in Shanghai and raised in Hong Kong. He later came to the United States to pursue his education, earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Maryland. He settled in Phoenix, Arizona, where he built a successful career as an entrepreneur, operating a chain of Chinese restaurants for over two decades before transitioning into the insurance industry.

A true community builder, Charles has founded numerous Asian American organizations and served in leadership roles until new leaders emerged to carry them forward. His contributions include founding the Arizona Asian American Association, OCA Phoenix Chapter, Phoenix Dragon Lions Club, Arizona Chinese Restaurant Association, Chinese Week, and the Arizona Asian Festival—many of which continue to thrive today. In the public sector, he also served as Chair of the Phoenix Sister City Chengdu Committee and as an Arizona Racing Commissioner for over a decade.

Driven by a deep commitment to the Chinese American community, Charles later helped establish the Chinese American Foundation of Arizona under the Arizona Community Foundation and co-founded the United Chinese Americans chapter in Arizona.

After retiring from his insurance career, Charles has continued his community service, focusing on helping individuals access healthcare resources—especially those who might otherwise face barriers to care. Charles is a proud father and grandfather.

Seamon Chan 陈希孟

Seamon Chan is Founding Partner at Palm Drive Capital, a global venture capital firm invested in over 150 technology startups across five continents including WeLab, Jet.com, Carta, Clover Health, Rippling, Rappi, Flutterwave, and Boom Supersonic. Previously, he was at Insight Partners, a $100 billion venture capital and private equity firm. Seamon brings entrepreneurship and operating experience through startup roles in the mobile, gaming, advertising, and social networking spaces in the US, Asia, and Europe. Earlier in his career, he gained corporate and research experience at Hitachi Data Systems, Citigroup, Stanford Artificial Intelligence Lab, and Stanford Center for Integrated Systems.

Seamon graduated from Stanford University and the Owner/President Management program at Harvard Business School, and is completing the Tsinghua University People’s Bank of China School of Finance Belt Road Initiative EMBA Program. Seamon is Chair of Milken Institute Young Leaders Circle (Asia), a member of the Economic Club of New York, the Asia Society Southern California Advisory Board, China Institute-Serica U.S.-China Next-Gen Leaders Circle, and Term Member at the Council on Foreign Relations. He was honored as a Committee of 100 Next Generation Leader in 2018 and currently serves on the NGL Advisory Council.

During the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, Seamon co-founded MillionLives.org, a non-profit initiative to donate medical supplies to underserved communities around the world. He is an advisory board member at the Mekong Future Initiative, a Singapore-based non-profit organization focusing on youth education and entrepreneurship in the Mekong region. Through Palm Drive, Seamon has pledged a seven-figure amount to The Billion Dollar Fund for Women (Beyond the Billion), a global consortium of venture funds committed to tackling the gender investment gap by increasing their investments in women-founded companies.

Sophia Li李惠琼

Sophia Li is the founder of BioCalth International Inc. in the United States and the director of the Los Angeles Chinese Art Choir. She also serves as Vice President of the U.S.-China Business Association and President of the Chinese Association in West Covina, Los Angeles. She received her degree in vocal music from the Guangzhou Xinghai Conservatory of Music.

A dedicated entrepreneur, cultural advocate, and community leader, Sophia has long been active in promoting the arts and strengthening community ties. Despite her extensive business experience, she has remained deeply committed to music and cultural exchange. She has organized and produced numerous large-scale concerts and cultural events, including major commemorative performances and charity concerts, contributing significantly to cultural dialogue and understanding between the United States and China.

Having lived in the United States for over 40 years, Sophia is widely recognized for her energy, generosity, and dedication to public service. She is passionate about community engagement and philanthropy, and her leadership reflects a strong commitment to excellence and to advancing the well-being of the Chinese American community.

Hua Wang 王华

Dr. Hua Wang’s professional experience has spanned academia, government and industry. He is currently a faculty member and an administrator at Boston University. He was a research scientist with United Technologies Research Center, a faculty member with Duke University, and a program manager with the U.S. Army Research Office. He was a recipient of various professional awards, an author of numerous technical publications and has served on many editorial and conference boards.

He has been active in serving the community – local and beyond. He is the President of the Chinese American Association of Lexington (CAAL) and serves on the boards of Lexington Historical Society and Cary Memorial Library Foundation. He was a founding board member of the Community Endowment of Lexington (CEL) and served in the past two superintendent search committees. Beyond Lexington, he serves on the national board of UCA and as Treasury of UCA-MA. He is also the founding Co-chair of New England Chinese American Alliance (NECAA).

Jason Dong 董校铭

Jason Dong 董校铭 is the president of United Chinese Association of Utah, has been very active in Chinese, Asian and multicultural communities for the past many years. He had served on numerous boards and committees at local, state and national levels. Jason has been a driving force to make differences in many cultural and heritage events specifically in Utah. Jason started his career in the software industry. He has been an evangelical thought leader in several areas including software engineering, security, AI and machine learning, and held patents in networking and security areas. He graduated from Peking University in China and Ohio University in Ohio.

Jason Dong is an UCA board member, serves as a representative of UCA community partner.

Steven Lin 林青

Steven was born in Lianjiang County, Fujian Province. He later moved to the United States and built a career in both the foodservice and financial industries. As a chef and business owner, he partnered with Huntsville Hospital for a decade, demonstrating strong entrepreneurial and operational leadership.

He currently resides in Huntsville, Alabama, where he has been actively engaged in community service. He has served on the board of the Huntsville Chinese Association (HCA) and later became its President, playing a key role in strengthening the local Chinese American community and promoting cultural engagement.

Shirley Ma 马晓红

Shirley Ma was born in Shenyang, Liaoning, China, and later moved to the United States. She is a dedicated community leader and long-time volunteer who has played an important role in supporting Chinese American civic engagement and organizational development.

Shirley has been actively involved with the United Chinese Americans (UCA) national board, where she had served as Board Secretary and led the Donor and Member Services Committee. She has been a key contributor to UCA’s national operations, major programs, conventions, and community outreach efforts, including donor engagement and database management.

Professionally, Shirley is a senior scientist based in the San Francisco Bay Area, specializing in drug development for cancer immunotherapy.

Stephanie Sun 孙一

Stephanie Sun brings a wealth of international experience from working in 3 Fortune Global 100 corporations in 3 countries, into her public service across government, nonprofit, philanthropy and civic sectors.

Her notable contributions to the U.S. include making Pennsylvania the first and only swing state to implement a trilingual election system, by spearheading the historic progress of the Pennsylvania election system moving from bilingual to trilingual, adding Chinese in 2022. She also organized the largest and most diverse nonpartisan voter education and Get Out The Vote campaign in Pennsylvania history, reaching communities in 23 languages. She co-organized the first-ever public hearing concerning the Asian community in the history of Pennsylvania— resulting in reforms to Philadelphia's law enforcement services and language access.

Stephanie also made history as the first female immigrant appointed by Pennsylvania Governor as Executive Director of a Governor’s Commission— leading the Governor’s Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs. She later became the first Asian and first immigrant invited and appointed as Advisor to the Pennsylvania Office of Health Equity. She was subsequently invited to serve as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of The Welcoming Center, becoming the first immigrant and first Asian American to lead in this role.

She is also the first Asian American to lead the League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania as Vice President, elected unanimously by 100+ delegates from across the state. In this role, she co-leads 33 local chapters representing 8,400+ members statewide.

With years of experience across the philanthropic landscape, Stephanie has worked in community fund circles, Fortune 100 corporate giving, and state and county government grantmaking for nonprofits. Stephanie's leadership has been widely recognized, including the Asian Outstanding Female Leadership Award at the United Nations headquarters, the Woman Innovators Leadership Award at World Expo in Japan, and recognition by the Philadelphia City Council through an official Council Resolution.

Qifei Li 李齐飞

Qifei Li is an accomplished entrepreneur with extensive experience in the PCB (printed circuit board) industry. She began her career in PCB design and went on to found Aifeiyan Electronic Technology, followed by the establishment of Allfavor Circuits, a manufacturing company that grew into a leading player in the industry. Through strategic acquisitions, including Nanjing Benchuan Circuit and Zhuhai Yatu (later renamed Zhuhai Allfavor Electronic), she expanded the company’s capabilities to include flexible and rigid-flex PCB technologies. She later established Allfavor Technology in Chicago to serve the U.S. market. Her business achievements culminated in the successful public listing of Jiangsu Benchuan Intelligence and its subsidiaries.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Qifei is actively involved in community service. She serves on the UCACF Grant Follow-Up Team, contributing to post-grant engagement and impact tracking. She has also been an active member of the New England Chinese American Alliance (NECAA) and is a dedicated supporter of United Chinese Americans (UCA).

Jun Qi 齐军

Jun Qi is a Certified Public Accountant and Vice President at Fidelity Investments. He has served at NECAA for four years, handling accounting and tax-related matters, and is also responsible for NECAA Youth. He is very active in church services as well.
